At BEST, we recognise the importance of learning new skills for sheer enjoyment and without the pressure of exams. This is why we are offering workshops in Creative Writing and Drama, which will allow the students to thrive creatively in a relaxed and friendly environment.

Taught by an experienced and published writer, these workshops will offer students the opportunity to write stories, poems and pieces of creative non-fiction in a small group where emphasis will be placed on collaborative learning and the enjoyment of sharing and praising the work of others. New writing skills will be taught with the aim of enhancing each pupil’s work, and the long-term goal is to produce a booklet of stories and poems at the end of the year. Workshops are suitable for ages 11-16.

Drama is an important method of expression and a way of exploring ideas, feelings and developing confidence. During the workshops, students will focus on their skills of improvisation, but sessions based around creating scripts, as well as using established  play scripts will also be offered. No previous experience of drama is needed and young people are encouraged to come along and have fun in an environment with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Sessions are suitable for ages 11-16.
